‘Hope to Oban’ (H2O) is a Christian youth organisation, formed in 2003 by a group of local Christians from all denominations and is a registered charitable company, limited by guarantee.

H2O is structured through a Board of 12 Directors which is responsible for the strategic direction of the organisation.  Operational management is carried out through 4 teams

  • Prayer Network Team
  • Youth Team.
  • Business and Fund Raising Team.
  • Events Team.

At present H2O employs 2 youth workers who are based at ‘The Well’, office and youth work premises of H2O.

At Oban High School?

  • Ongoing daily relational youth work
  • Informal one-to-one mentoring
  • Pupil support with the Oban High School support dept.
  • Support for Prince’s Trust XL Club, Rich Tasks projects and Curriculum for Excellence partnership developments.
  • Weekly Rock Solid lunchtime activity club
  • Weekly visits to Glencruitten Hostel
  • Weekly lunchtime Prayer Group
  • Liaise with numerous departments to enable pupils to participate in Club H2O, weekly our inter-generational initiative.
  • Support various departments on trips and events
  • Coordinate the Oban High School Chaplaincy team

H2O also

  • Hosts a monthly prayer meeting on the first Sunday of the month at The Well, 8pm. (see current copy of Source, our monthly prayer update)
  • Works in partnership local churches, Oban Youth Café, the Social Work Department, Community Police and Community Learning to identify individuals and groups of young people in need.
  • Provides young people with appropriate advice, guidance, support and mentoring to encourage them to become positive, confident and rounded young adults.
  • Provides relevant, appropriate forums for young people to explore the Christian faith.
  • Identifies and develops new youth work initiatives.
