The Caledon Experience
For pupils and staff alike, working with Caledon was an extraordinary experience. Caledon, the three Scottish Tenors, came to the Oban area to work with the schools through a long standing connection between Ewen Munro and one of the tenors, Jamie MacDougall.
The 3-day event, was seen as an opportunity for pupils at various ages and stages to work in masterclass settings with the three professional opera singers and their gifted musical director, culminating in a grand performance at the end of the three days. Their relaxed, yet professional manner was viewed by H2O as an opportunity for a wide group of the young people of Oban and the surrounding area to experience another level of music making. Choirs and individuals were stretched and pushed musically, and their voices, even in this short space of time became more rounded, confident and harmonious. This project was viewed as a tremendous opportunity for H2O to serve the Oban area schools by introducing pupils to something innovative and memorable.
"The experience of Caledon working with the children was very worthwhile. Lots of talent and professionalism, yet understanding of age ranges."

"Without the enthusiasm and energy of the H2O team, none of it would be possible. The pupils had an amazing experience and it was certainly one which we would like to repeat in the very near future."

H2O are grateful to the schools and Argyll & Bute council for their contributions towards the cost of this event.
